Subjects Taught: Music – Various

Synopsis:
Skills taught are:
For piano, I use a blend of traditional methods such as Alfreds, Bastien, Faber, John
Thompson and more contemporary methods for students. Most students learn and
practice new concepts and skills using pieces in their method books, however, they also
need additional music for reinforcement and motivation.
Each person requires a different teaching approach. There are three basic learning styles:
visual, auditory, kinesthetic/manipulative. Whether using imagery, dry facts, story telling,
imitation, references to thing students enjoy, or hands-on experimentation, my job is to find
out what speaks to the student the most and use it to the fullest.
Regardless of age, students need to learn the same basic concepts and skills. Students
learn to apply concepts and skills by; Hearing, Reading, Playing the piano, Writing &
Analyzing.

Romantic, and 20th Century eras within their historical context. Also covers World Music
topics.
