Ice Fishing

Connections Annual Ice Fishing outing will be held on Friday, January 21st 2022 at Scout Lake in Sterling.

We will start fishing at 9:30am but you can show up whenever you like until 1 PM.

Connections will provide the bait, tackle and rods but if you have a rod you enjoy fishing with or a secret fish catching bait, please feel free to bring your own bait and gear.

All residents age 18 or older and nonresidents age 16 or older must purchase and possess a sport fishing license to participate in Alaska sport and personal use fisheries.

Scout Lake is located about mile 84 of the Sterling Highway.  The turnout is almost directly across the Sterling Highway from the Waste Transfer Station.

Please park and walk down the trail ¼ mile to the lake.  We will have holes drilled and a red ice tent with a heater for folks to enjoy and knock the chill off.

This is an outside event so please dress appropriately.

If the temperature is forecast to be below zero, we will reschedule this event.

Please RSVP, so we have an idea of how many rods to bring and bait to purchase.

Please email Reubin Payne at rpayne@kpbsd.k12.ak.us or call 714-8880 with any questions.

See you out there!
