LESSON DESCRIPTION: Students will be taught to read music so they can play music from sight reading. Proper form while playing, including sitting correctly, and holding correct finger position are instructed. A varied range of music including classical, jazz, folk and contemporary will be taught. Student interest in types of music helps guide the instructors choice of music selection. Special holiday pieces are offered to students. Music theory is also included in the lessons, so as to encourage reading and composing. Faber curriculum is the primary materials, other pieces will be introduced with progression of skills.
