Homer- Birder’s Club

Starting April 1st, we will have a Birder’s Club on Monday’s 3:30-4:30pm at the Homer Connections Learning Center

All grades are welcome!

Students under grade 5 MUST be accompanied by an adult.

• No long term commitment required. Just come when you can!
• Mrs. Connie Akers will be leading this group. Please be aware that she will be engaged with families directly or indirectly up to 3:30pm. She will not be free to talk until that time.
• Meet at 3:30pm each Monday in the Homer Connections Learning Center where we will talk about a bird, bird family, or habitat and then we will go out into the field.
• Dress for the weather (wind, cold, rain, snow). Birds and Birders are out in all kinds of weather.
• We will walk together or drive separately to our location for the day.
• We will observe good birding etiquette to respect the birds, private property, habitat, and the general public.
• We will look for specific birds and to see what is active in a particular habitat.
• If you have binoculars or a scope, please bring with you each week.
• If you have a bird guide, please also bring with you.
